SWINDON ROBINS: Kildemand keen on Robins return

SWINDON asset Peter Kildemand is not expecting any stumbling blocks to get in the way of his proposed return to the Robins for 2013.

The Dane has had preliminary talks with team manager Alun Rossiter regarding a new deal at Blunsdon, with the two sides always confident he would be back in Wiltshire after a superb first season with the Robins.

Kildemand picked up the Advertiser’s Rider of the Year award after entertaining all year long with his all-action displays, which ultimately culminated in a title-winning performance in the second leg of the Elite League final at Poole last month.

Further talks are set to be had this week with a deal close to being tied down, and Kildemand is looking forward to being back with the Robins next year.

“Moving to Swindon was good for me, and it has helped me a lot, so I would like to go back,” he said.

“I like the track there and all the people are good, and Rosco has been really good to me so it will be nice to be back at Swindon.

“Things could not have really gone any better because we won the league and we all enjoyed being there, and I want us to win it again.

“We had a really good team, and I hope we can have as many of the riders back again next year so that we can try again.

“We will have talks this week to see what we can do, but I don’t think there will be any problems because I want to go back.

“I always wanted to come back to Swindon, and I said that before the end of last season, so even if there was any other teams interested they knew I wanted to come back.

“I have not talked to any other club, because Swindon was always my choice.”

Kildemand has already sorted out deals with Fjelsted in his homeland and Vargarna in Sweden, and is also keen to sort out his future in Poland, but the youngster never considered dropping out of British speedway as so many stars have in recent years.

“I have enjoyed my time at Swindon and I have learnt a lot while I have been there, so I never wanted to leave,” he said, “British speedway has been good to me and I am still young and need to learn, so I always wanted to come back.”
