DAVID Howell will make one final push to get himself up into the top 60 in the Race to Dubai rankings today.

The Swindon star is currently ranked 61st and should he make up one more place this weekend, he will play at the lucrative World Tour Championship in his second home of Dubai.

Hauling himself up the rankings would put Howell in a field with the likes of Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose at the season-ending tournament, which starts on Thursday next week.

Hong Kong Golf Club is the venue for the Broome Manor pro today and he was due to tee off at 4.30am GMT (12.30pm local time) in Fanling in one of the final groups.

His playing partners are Thitiphun Chuayprakong and Darren Beck.
