DESPITE first coming up against the Glovers’ previous incarnartion Yeovil Casuals in 1901, games between Town and the men from Huish Park have been few and far between.

In total the two sides have only met 13 times, with the first two both being 4-0 victories for Town in FA Cup matches a year and a day apart in 1901 and 1902.

At the County Ground each team has won three of six games played, with a 104-year gap between the first two.

After the 4-0 victory in 1901, the next meeting in Wiltshire was not until 2005 when the Robins continued their winning run with a 4-2 success.

After Pablo Bastianni gave the visitors the lead Glovers skipper Terry Skiverton netted at both ends, while goals from Rory Fallon, Colin Heath and Christian Roberts secured victory for the Robins.

Lloyd Owusu grabbed the only goal in 2007 to condemn Town to a home loss, and the following year a Jerel Ifil own goal had the same effect as Town went down to a 3-2 defeat in December 2008 after Michael Timlin and Jon-Paul McGovern dragged Town back from 2-0 down.

Billy Paynter, Charlie Austin and Danny Ward gave Town a 3-1 win almost exactly a year later, and in the two sides’ last meeting in 2011, Dean Bowditch scored the only goal in a year which ultimately resulted in relegation.
