HANNAH Miley set a new European record as she charged to gold at the European Short Course Championships this afternoon.

The Swindon-born flyer, competing in her favoured 400m individual medley event, clocked 4:23.47 as she touched the wall first in Chartres, France.

That was Miley's third medal of the competition having previously won silver medals in the 800m freestyle and the 200m IM.

Whilst its always good to see a Brit do well in Euro or World competition & I congratulate Hannah - the Swindon connection is a bit tenuous surely - she was born here end of - never lived locally as far as I'm aware - just fill up news eh Adver?
