We deserved point, says Wes

Swindon Advertiser: BREAKTHROUGH: Alan Judge beats Wes Foderingham BREAKTHROUGH: Alan Judge beats Wes Foderingham

SWINDON Town deserved at least a point for their efforts at Meadow Lane on Saturday, according to goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

Despite enjoying plenty of chances and much of the possession against Notts County, Swindon were unable to break their hosts down and went home empty-handed thanks to Alan Judge’s 27th-minute winner for the Magpies.

Foderingham put in an impressive shift in the Robins goal, making one superb save from Chris Iwelumo early in the second half but, after watching his teammates create a host of opportunities in front of goal, the stopper was disappointed not to have secured a share of the spoils.

“It was very frustrating,” he said. “We created more of the clear-cut chances. I think on another day we might have taken a few of them and their keeper has made a couple of decent saves to be fair to him as well.

“He’s done well, he’s made a few good saves in the first half and the second half. We didn’t stretch him too much but everything we threw at him he was equal to today.

“They’ve had one good strike from the edge of the box which has gone in and in the second half I’ve made a decent save from a header and that’s pretty much all they created. We’re pretty disappointed not to have come out with at least a draw.”

Of the Notts County goal, Foderingham said: “He’s picked it up on the edge of the box, there’s probably a handball I think in the build-up and he’s gone through.

“Wardy (Darren Ward) has made the decision to stand off to see if he can block the shot and it’s blocked my vision a little bit but to be fair to him he’s struck it well, it’s come over Wardy’s right shoulder and it’s gone into the far corner so I can’t really have any complaints.”
