WINGER Raffa De Vita believes Town are the best footballing side in League One, but admitted his side can’t afford a repeat of their frustrating draw with Doncaster.

The home side dominated Saturday’s clash after Matt Ritchie’s opener was cancelled out by a Danny Hollands own goal, but couldn’t find the elusive winner due to hitting the woodwork twice and a superb display from Rovers keeper Gary Woods.

De Vita was at the heart of some of Swindon’s best moves down Town’s left flank, but was left frustrated at the final whistle as his side once again failed to take three home points from a game they controlled.

“It is very frustrating and it has happened too many times now,” he said.

“The way we play football, from what I have seen, makes us the best side in the league, but if we don’t score goals it is going to be very hard.

“We need to get on the end of things more, and it is not just the strikers it is me and Matt (Ritchie) and the midfielders too.

“We created far too many chances not to get three points at the end of it.”

While Town were perhaps unfortunate not to come away with all three points against a second-placed Rovers side happy to leave with one, De Vita refused to put the dropped points down to bad luck.

“These things can be bad luck, but it has happened too many times now,” he said.

“At Notts County (1-0 defeat) we played reasonably well and if there was one team who was going to win it was going to be us, but in that game we didn’t even get a point.

“I don’t think Doncaster had any right to get a point, so it is really bad that we didn’t get three points.

“If a team creates enough chances and it is an even game then that is fair enough, but we dominated the game and should have got the three points.

“We can’t even say they created one chance in the game because that wasn’t even a chance because it was really unlucky to concede an own goal.”

Town travel to Oldham next weekend, and De Vita believes the answer to their problems in front of goal is simply hard work.

“The only thing we can do is work hard during the week, and if we keep going we are going to start scoring goals because we have decent players all over the park,” he said.

“We have players all the other managers are jealous of, so I am sure we will get it right.”
