SWINDON Town Football in the Community Trust recently completed their first emergency first aid course at Lambourn Sports Juniors.

The programme, which took place on Saturday December 1, further expands the Trust’s coaching portfolio and received plenty of positive feedback from those who participated.

Lambourn club secretary Carl Skeats said: “We found as a club it was great for us to be able to get Pat Murphy to come here as it allowed us to put all of the coaches through the course on the same day in a venue and at a time that was convenient to us.

“From an administrative point of view we know exactly when all of our coaches’ qualifications expire so we do not have to send them off as individuals to find courses. We found the course was run professionally, was well organised, and Pat knew his topic well. He passed on that information to us in a really relaxed and informal way, that made the participants confident and at ease. I would really recommend it to any club”.

Trust manager Clive Maguire said: “This is an exciting expansion to our education programme. We are now an FA-approved first aid course deliverer. It was great to run our first ever course at Lambourn FC as we have built a fantastic partnership with their football club.

“We had superb feedback on how the course was professionally delivered and are looking forward to the courses we have booked in the new year. We will also be delivering FA Level One and Level Two coaching qualifications as part of our new education programme with details being released in the new year."
