CHENEY got their ninth win in 10 starts in Division Five of the Swindon Sunday League at the weekend, demolishing R J Aerials 12-0.

Shane Hibbert was the pick of the goalscorers with four goals to his name, while Andrew Walshe bagged a hat-trick.

Liam Preedy converted a penalty and Joe Fitchett, Aaron Welland and Chris Price were also on the scoresheet, the latter with his first goal of the season.

The only other game in the division, saw Chiseldon Sunday crush Cleeve Tech 5-1.

There was little other league action to speak of across the divisions, with just eight other matches going ahead.

Gas beat Penhill 3-0 in Division One, Blyskawica batterd Coleview 12-2 in Division Two and Dynamo Ashton edged out Rudis 3-2 in Division Three.

Division Four saw Smart Movers whitewash Parks 5-0 while in Division Six, Wroughton took a 3-2 victory over Nationwide Pavilion.

In Division Seven, DBS annihilated Highworth Cellar Bar 14-2, Rug Shack thrashed Rosier Rovers 5-0 and Bakers Arms beat Gorsehill Borough 3-1.

Inter Sandgate’s involvement in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup came to an end at the third-round stage as they were dumped out 5-1 by AFC Melksham.

Richie Crocker scored Sandgate’s solitary goal and the match was at one stage finely poised at 2-1.

However, Jason Smith gave away a free kick from which Melksham got their third goal and the hosts then kicked on to an emphatic victory.

Elsewhere in the competition, Greyhound’s hopes of going one better than in last year’s competition - when they reached the final - remained on course.

However, they were made to work extremely hard by KC Globe, who play four divisions below.

The match was locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes before Greyhound got their winner.
