SWINDON TOWN: Town reduce prices for Hartlepool clash

Town reduce prices for Hartlepool clash Town reduce prices for Hartlepool clash

SWINDON Town have reduced ticket prices for the visit of Hartlepool United on Saturday, February 9.

Following three good attendances at the County Ground over the Christmas and new year period, for the visits of Tranmere, Portsmouth and Carlisle, the Robins are aiming for another crowd pushing five figures when Pools arrive in Wiltshire.

Adults and concessions can see the game for £15 while juniors aged 15 and younger can gain entry for £10.

Prices are the same for all areas of the ground and will be available on the day as well in advance.

Kick-off is at 3pm.

This is a great example of the club listening to its fans.
I'm sure the fact its bottom of the table hartlepool, and not high profile portsmouth or table topping tranmere that has a lot to do with it, but all the same, its recognising what fans are saying.
I read again today about 'value for money' but its a phrase that drives me mad. If its out of reach of the average family, then its still expensive, it doesn't matter if we win every game 10-0!
A Ferrari may be deamed as value for money given its performance, specification and desirability, but you dont see many sat in the CG car park do you?
Didn't want this positive news to turn into a moan, but its great work by the club. £15 is excellent and very cheap, £20 is probably in range of most supporters, £25 is expensive, especially for a family. Regardless of performances.

Also not wanting to do anything to take the gloss off a good idea by the board, but the price I pay will not be reduced, because I paid the going rate when I bought my season ticket in the summer.

On the subject of affordability, I have a standard response. If £25 is too expensive for someone to justify (and I fully understand how it could be), but that £12.50 is affordable...go to every other match.

But don't stop going at all.

Lets hope that these incentives work and that we regularly start hitting 10,000+ attendances, maybe Stratton Bank will have to be opened every game to cope with demand.

Well I have just booked 6 adult tickets in the DR Stand all near to me.
So we have Cobblers fan, a Chelsea fan, a Sunderland fan, a Portsmouth fan, a QPR fan and a Neutral all coming to watch the mighty Swindon.

Jolly Boys Outing starting with an early Breakfast in Banbury followed by a train journey that will no doubt end up "messy" for sure :)
What Saturday's are all about. Even laughing thinking about it as we always have a laugh and great banter when we get together.

So come on everyone bring another adult along and lets get a big crowd.

Let's hope they're all pleasantly surprised by what they see! :-)

Well, I have a season ticket and I'm delighted to see the club showing this initiative. As far as I'm concerned, anything that increases attendances is a good thing. If they reduced the price to a fiver I'd be even happier except of course for the fact that it wouldn't benefit the club as much.
.
And Town of The Future, value for money is value for money. It's not about affordability. I couldn't afford a brand new Ferrari at half price but I would recognise it as value for money.

Totally Agree Oi Den, but thats kinda my point.
The club almost need to move away from the idea of Value for money, and instead concentrate on what people can afford. Like you say yourself, Ferrari will argue you're getting value for money, but we still couldn't afford one.
For myself, the mrs, and my two boys, with a half time cuppa and hotdog, can cost almost £100.
Again though, i didnt want this to turn into a moan in the sense of the club not being able to do anything right, as this is great step in the right direction with an indication the club maybe starting to listen.
