SWINDON TOWN: Head to Head: Bournemouth versus Swindon Town

IT’S fair to say that Dean Court is not a place Swindon Town fans have frequented with much success down the years.

The Robins have a remarkably poor win percentage of just 27 per cent at Bournemouth, having claimed just six victories in 54 trips to the south coast club in all competitions.

Furthermore, Town have conceded an astonishing 110 goals in that time - and it’s been the best part of a quarter of a century since Swindon returned from Dorset with all three points.

The first two clashes between the sides at Dean Court were both 0-0 draws, in 1923 and 1925, but once the goals started to flow in this contest they quickly became a flood.

On an astonishing nine occasions between December 1930 and September 1956, Swindon conceded four or more goals to their hosts.

During that period there were two 4-0 defeats, two 4-1s, a 5-1, two 5-2s, a 6-1 and a 7-0.

The goal tide went back out again during the 1960s, 70s and 80s but in recent years fans have been truly entertained when the two sides have met.

There have been 19 goals in the last five clashes, with Town letting in at least two on each occasion.

Can I ask who did the maths in this report cos when I went to school I'm pretty sure that 6/54 isn't 27%.

Sap, I was merely pointing out that 6/54 isn't anywhere near the 27% quoted in the report & Faithful was stating it's nearer 11%, nothing to do with living in the past, for the record I think tomorrow is going to be tough but I think we may just have the edge what with Williams & Collins finding their scoring boots

Well there's no doubt it will be a difficult tie. Ii said a couple of weeks back that this will be one of the harder ones, the 2 most in form teams in the league (although one of them is top in Europe)... Time to make it 7 wins!!
