A TWITTER war broke out over the weekend between fans of Swindon Town and Bournemouth after a picture of the broken away dugout at Dean Court circulated on the social networking site.

The snap, taken by Advertiser chief sports writer Sam Morshead, showed minor damage to a Perspex wall and Cherries fans were quick to blame Town manager Paolo Di Canio for the breakage.

Comments ranged from “likely your buffoon of a manger, that's just pure disrespect to our club!” and “I do hope Mr Di Canio is paying for that... see this @FA - Unacceptable!” to “this should be report to Dorset police and the fa #afcb”

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell, meanwhile, told the Bournemouth Echo that the Cherries would be pursuing Swindon following the incident.

However, it appears those fans who blamed Di Canio were too quick to point the finger at the Italian, as the Adver understands the damage was accidentally caused by goalkeeping coach Domenico Duardo during the celebrations of Andy Williams’ late equaliser for the Robins.

The two clubs are expected to sort out the issue. In the meantime, maybe we should all retain a little Perspextive.
