DAVE Webb has admitted he could lose the services of Chris Taylor after the midfielder was the subject of a seven-day approach from two clubs.

Taylor has relaunched his career at Supermarine after returning from a dislocated knee and torn cruciate and lateral ligaments.

But his impressive performances have caught the eyes of other clubs and boss Webb is concerned the playmaker could head for the exit door.

“We’ve had seven-day approaches from two clubs for Chrissy Taylor so the likelihood is we’re going to lose him,” said Webb.

“The approaches are from one club in our league and one in a higher league.

“At Christmas he said he was going to see the season through with us, but he has a decision to make now.

“Hopefully he will decide he wants to stay and be a part of what we’re trying to achieve.”

Marine are scheduled to play Didcot at home tomorrow but with snow forecast, the game is highly unlikely to go ahead.

Meanwhile, Cirencester have snapped up former Welsh international as they prepare for a clash with Wimborne at the Corinium.

Glyn Garner earned his sole Welsh cap in 2006 and has made 366 club appearances throughout his distinguished career.

The 36-year-old became the fourth keeper used by the Centurions in making his debut against Cinderford on Saturday.

Matt Bath, Lee Clatworthy and Dave Evans have previously taken their place between the sticks this season.

Elsewhere, ex-Supermarine striker Alan Griffin is confident that he and his fellow Chippenham hotshots will find their scoring touch again.

The Bluebirds - scheduled to travel to Bashley this weekend - have failed to score in either of their last two Southern Premier games as they recorded successive 0-0 draws.

Griffin is Chippenham’s top scorer on 11 goals and he is convinced that they will soon start flying in again for the Hardenhuish Park side.

“We were scoring goals for fun and now we’ve been keeping clean sheets but haven’t scored a lot - you go through patches like that,” said Griffin.

“I think they’re doing well at the back and if we can start taking a few chances up top then we’ll start winning.”
