SIMON Ferry expects to come up against an “angry” Tranmere side when Swindon Town visit Prenton Park tomorrow.
The Robins dished out a 5-0 thrashing to the table-topping Wirral outfit in December, and Ferry thinks Rovers will still be hurting from their pre-Christmas humiliation.
Town will be looking to protect a two-month unbeaten record in the north west this weekend, at the ground Ferry scored his first Football League goal in a 4-1 Swindon win in October 2009, and the Scot stressed that he and his teammates will be well prepared to deal with a Tranmere backlash.
“We’d take any win up there. They’re top and we’re fourth so it’s a massive game. After beating them 5-0 earlier this season they’ll be out to get revenge. I think we’re the only team who’s really given them a doing this season,” he said.
“It’s a big game for us, if we can reduce the gap as well so it should make for a good game.
“It’s never nice to get beat 5-0 and they’ll obviously be angry about that because it was their first big defeat when they were going so well. I’m sure anyone is the same - when you get beat badly by somebody you remember it and you’ll want to go back and make up for it.
“They’ll be up for it and we want to reduce the gap so we’ll be up for it as well.”
