SWINDON TOWN: Benson joins Robins

Town front man Paul Benson Town front man Paul Benson

TOWN striker Paul Benson has joined League Two Cheltenham on loan until the end of the season.

The experienced front man could make his debut in Saturday’s home game against Torquay.

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates told the club’s official website: "Patience has paid off and we have been greatly rewarded.

"We would have liked to have done things sooner but it was important for Paul to think about things and decide on whether it was the best move for him.

"We are happy to have brought a quality player into the club such as Paul."

Can only echo the above - good luck to Benno and fairplay to him for letting us get his wages off the books for a little while as he could have decided not to go

Good luck Paul, my son caught your left boot when you threw it into the crowd at the end of Bradford away game last season. You were great last year, if you half as good at Cheltenham, they will go up.

Shouldn't the headline read: "Benson leaves and joins Robins"?
