Dear all, .

A couple of quick notes: 1 - The results for the last 3 games will go onto the results thread which was posted at 6pm on Tuesday

2 - Unfortunately one or two of the match day threads have gone up a little later than planned - I'll try to ensure that those for Tuesday night games are made available to the Adver before the weekend as I can't get them posted late Saturdays or Sundays and if I forget to send them through before normal working hours on Monday then often it is way too late for many.

School Report: Doing OK must do better! :-) .

On the question of Hartlepool, well I have to admit that I never look at this as an easy game as they have been the spoilers so many times over the years and since the start of 1995 we have a record of 3-7-4 and only one of those wins came at home although the overall record against them is far more healthy at W-11 D-11 L-6.

As an overall home record we only have a 6-4-3 hence my reserved optimism and whilst I'm confident that this new squad and style of play is a cut above the rest I do still have concerns, especially as they've had two very tough games on energy sapping pitches in the last 6 days and it is that matter of a top 3 side playing the bottom team……easy eh!?….let's just say I won't be too comfortable until we get 2 goals clear!

So long as the players stay focused and put in the same energy and commitment as Tuesday I can't see Hartlepool living with us, especially on a decent surface again, but you do have to give a bit of respect to their recent form as much like Colchester they too have won their last 2 games and will no doubt take great pleasure in gaining a bore-draw whilst looking to knick one on the break.

After Saturday the players have a well earned rest before bedding in the new boys who will surely be arriving on Monday at latest!?
