FORMER Robin Mads Korneliussen is the latest name to be added to the field for the season opening Bob Kilby Memorial Meeting.

The March 14 meeting will be run using the British Final format, and will be a chance to remember one of the Robins’ most loyal riders as well as being the first chance to celebrate Swindon’s Elite League title victory at Blunsdon.

Dane Korneliussen enjoyed two successful spells with the Robins, and joins a field already including three-time world champion Nicki Pedersen, Grzegorz Zengota and title-winning Robins Troy Batchelor and Jason Doyle.

Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett is looking forward to seeing the popular Dane return to Blunsdon, and has backed him to make an impression in the meeting.

“Mads was a popular rider for the Robins and is always quick to accept an invitation to come back and ride here again because he was a real crowd favourite,” he said.

“Whenever he does come back he likes to take the opportunity to come and show us exactly what we are missing, so I am sure he will have a good meeting.”

Further riders are set to be announced in the next few days, with the majority of the 2012 Elite League title-winning side set to return for the meeting.
