SWINDON Town Ladies continued their good run of form with a 6-1 thrashing of Gloucester City in the South West Combination League on Sunday.

Town started brightly and took the lead after just five minutes through Abby Picton, who had returned following a three-game ban.

Swindon went 2-0 up thanks to a fine finish from Kirsty Shell before Picton scored a couple more to make the advantage virtually unassailable Gloucester won a penalty just before half-time and it was converted, but the hosts continued to dominate after the interval.

Picton took her personal haul to four for the day as she scored twice more in the second period.

Elsewhere, Swindon Spitfires played out a 0-0 friendly draw at Longwell Green while Spitfires Reserves maintained their lead at the top of the Wiltshire League thanks to a 3-1 win at Marlborough Town.

In the Oxford Girls' League, Spitfires Under 14s chalked up a 6-0 win over Summertown Stars.

The deadlock was broken when Amy Connaghan slipped a pass though for Danni Granato who applied the simple finish.

Charley Reynolds lobbed the keeper from long range to double the lead before Kat Reynolds' free kick was controlled and sent home by Connaghan.

After the break, good work by Charley Reynolds and Meghan Larkin allowed Connaghan to volley into the net.

Spits stopper Chloe Mason tipped over the bar and then Katie Dellow's cross was converted by Granato to make it 5-0.

Connaghan completed the scoring and her hat-trick late on.
