DAVID Howell made a storming start at the inaugural Tshwane Open in South Africa today.
The Swindon star carded a five-under-par round of 67 and currently sits in a tie for third, two shots off the lead.
Birdying the first, the Broome Manor pro made gains at three of the first four holes on the back nine before adding a birdie two on 17.
Home player Darren Fichardt holds the lead after round one.
For reaction from Howell see tomorrow's Swindon Advertiser.
