Was impressed with Miller today especially his tackling, several times won us the ball back in dangerous areas. Collins battled gainfully but never really got any good chances. Willo what can we say, so frustrating, he does all the hard work, terrorises the back four then misses the one on one again and again!! So hard to say whether this will ever improve but he is certainly a handful. A Rooney, i castigated earlier in season had him at back of a list of about 6 strikers but have warmed to him over last month, he puts himself about and is def improving. Luke rooney was lively when on and gald he is back in the fold, raffa less time but still looked sharp. great result, great day, also thanks to the town fan who decided to buy my kids kinder eggs in a shop after the game!!1 COYR!

absolutely love, love, loved today!!! What a crowd, does anyone know the official number?? We took 2 car loads of 3 generations of Town supporters and all had a great day. Loved the 'we fill your ground for you' chants. We dominated the game but i really felt that a good performance was going to go unrewarded, with 10 left i'd have loved 1-1, to win was just immense and how much did the players love it!! Was so proud at end and so pleased for Wardy and Miller after waht must have been a tough week. Promising early signs for new regime lots of football being played and much less hoofball. As for the team, fantastic save Wes surely a future prem keeper?? nathan played well after his early mistake and good to see comments from the manager there. Mcevely had a bit of a shocker for me, sound enough defensively but distribution woeful. Wardy and Flint very good against a tough opponent. Roberts linked up well lots of times and did a lot of good stuff but too often he just doesn't get that final ball into the box. Ferry did well first half, good passing as ever but faded a bit 2nd half, prob due to his time out with injury. thought macca did very well back in his old position some great tackles, driving forwards, had a good chance as well, one magig moment when up against 3 players he somehow came away with the ball, he did waste some passes though. Was impressed with Miller today especially his tackling, several times won us the ball back in dangerous areas. Collins battled gainfully but never really got any good chances. Willo what can we say, so frustrating, he does all the hard work, terrorises the back four then misses the one on one again and again!! So hard to say whether this will ever improve but he is certainly a handful. A Rooney, i castigated earlier in season had him at back of a list of about 6 strikers but have warmed to him over last month, he puts himself about and is def improving. Luke rooney was lively when on and gald he is back in the fold, raffa less time but still looked sharp. great result, great day, also thanks to the town fan who decided to buy my kids kinder eggs in a shop after the game!!1 COYR!

I did not see any trouble,was this trouble outside Tesco's before or after?
I was at said Tesco's around 2:30 and all was quiet.
Got to the ground at 12:30 and straight in the casino bar which is out of this world,certainly different from the Legends Bar!

Yep Charlie's strike was pretty impressive and Barn Door nodded one in for Donny.
Miller did have a better game but then he like them all could hardly play worse than against Bury. So too early to gauge whether its down to post traumatic PDc disorder.
Your mate was right we should have been out of sight by half time but Wilma once again put on her stilettos instead of boots lol! Good job HE stopped cross dressing second half and scored.
On the FL show the Cov interim manager agreed they were second best.

I thought I read that the Pack and Green deals were not dead. Thise two would be great, and perhaps another forward, although with time under a new coach our existing strikers may start firing.

Moving on from that I am also hopeful of seeing more of Louis Thompson and others coming on for short periods when we have games sewn up. Sheet - it was 4-4-2 essentially, with Ferry on the right side of midfield. We did wonder whether we might go 4-3-3 with Roberts and Williams either side of Collins and McCormack playing in front of the back four.

I don't go in for this 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-3-2 stuff. Gets a bit daft. There are broadly three areas - defence, midfield and attack!

That said, McCormack did start a bit deeper, but when it became clear that Coventry were just going to hoof it up to Clarke, he played more orthodox centre midfield and grew in influence in the second half.

With two ball winners in centre midfield you could see McDonald urging Roberts to stay on his wing. Another example of McDonald's tactical flexibility was that Rooney and Roberts did swap wings when they were both on the pitch - something you never saw under PDC.

I thought we have some tw*ts who constantly get on the players backs during games (never can understand why supporters moan at players during the game as it only has a negative effect). However their players were nervous, I noted a couple of times where 2 of their lads came into some nasty verbal stick by a few moaners and it was clearly getting to them. We often forget that these players are still very young. This actually played into our hands yesterday and I mentioned that and our fitness to a few Cov fans and made a comment that it doesn't suprise me why their away form is better than their home form. Therefore by all means get frustrated by support and encouraging is better than calling a player and 'fing useless so and so and shouting you are s**t.

Maybe those who were not quite as happy as they hoped have brightened up a bit since, c'mon chaps, a new dawn, we've had plenty but this one actually does feel good, with the added bonus of the players seemingly enjoying what is going on around them. Game on.

Agreed. If money is to be tight, we need to spend it wisely.

Also, I'd like t see what KMac can get out of them before we go rushing in.

Think the criticism is a little harsh. Yes he does miss, and quite a few, but how many of those chances did he create himself through his pace and skill.

His inclusion in the team alone forces teams to defend deeper.

Wiz, I think you make a very good point about striking partnership but I don't think Collins and Williams are compatible like that. You normally need a target man and a foil - the classic Rowlands/Mayes set up. Whilst Collins is a sort of target man, Williams is neither. He's more of a striker winger.

Only time I've seen a striker winger really work well when Barnes and Blissett both played that role for a while at Watford.
