WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: Taylor and Smith hit goals in Bassett win

WOOTTON Bassett Dev booked their spot in the final of the Junior KO Cup courtesy of a 2-0 win at Marshfield.

Goals from Lewis Taylor and Craig Smith saw Dave Terry and Wayne Petrie’s men over the line.

Bassett, who beat Division One champions elect Madames in the quarters, now take on Nalgo Wanderers in the final at Corsham’s Southbank ground on May 4.

It is the third time in Bassett’s history that one of the club’s teams has made the final of the Junior KO Cup, with the reserves previously doing so in 1984/85 and 1988/89.

In Division One, Nalgo Wanderers lost 2-1 at Chippenham Park Reserves, Ashton Keynes thrashed Wroughton 4-1 and Intel won 1-0 at Wilton.

In the Premier Division, Purton Reserves kept the heat on Wilts Calne Town at the top with a 3-2 victory at Shrewton.

Southbrook were beaten 3-0 at Corsham Reserves while Beversbrook lost by the same scoreline against Trowbridge.

Blyskawica suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Devizes Town Reserves.
