SHANE Moore is relishing the prospect of a return to action after missing last weekend's Wildcats games due to injury.

The 25-year-old defenceman has been nursing an ankle problem for the greater part of the season and was rested for the defeats to Milton Keynes and Basingstoke.

However, after lacing up for practice last night, Moore feels he is ready to be thrown back into the EPL fray.

“I picked it up at the start of the season and it just got worse and worse,” he said.

“I was playing through, but it got to the point where I couldn't walk on it on a Monday and Tuesday.

“It was good to give it some rest last weekend and that will allow me to get ready for the play-offs.

“It's really tough watching the boys because you feel you can do a job even if you're injured. I'm really excited to get back in the line-up this weekend.

“Hopefully with myself back in the dressing room that will give the guys a bit of a lift and a bit of positivity.”

Swindon might have a demanding final four fixtures heading into the play-offs with Bracknell, Guildford twice and Basingstoke to come, but Moore believes this could work in his team's favour.

“It's a really tough run-in for us but I think that's good,” he said.

“If we want to challenge in the play-offs then we need to be beating these type of teams.

“We've played well against the top teams so we don't feel threatened by them in any way.”
