Malaysian Open reduced to three rounds
DAVID Howell's hunch that the Malaysian Open would be reduced to 54 holes proved correct after organisers took the decision to curtail the tournament.
A third straight day of thunderstorms has resulted in play being suspended until tomorrow.
Howell got through the 13 holes necessary to complete his second round today, in which he carded four-under overall.
The Swindonian was two-over after five holes of his third and final round at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
That puts the Broome Manor pro on five-under overall in a tie for 25th, six shots off the lead held by Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
