HORSESHOE Gym boxer Andy Harris put up a brave fight against 2012 Great Britain Olympic captain Thomas Stalker on Saturday night.

Harris, who is promoted and managed by Swindon’s Keith Mayo Promotions, took the fight in Liverpool at a few days notice.

Stalker was the firm favourite prior to the first bell but Harris did his reputation no harm and even took a round off the Liverpublian, who eventually won the four-round clash 39-37.

Swindon promoter-manager Mayo said: “Andy did really well.

“It was always going to be a tough ask but he came to fight and even won the last round.

“He was really coming into the fight at the end and caught Thomas with his big right hand a few times.

“Andy is already getting loads more work from this fight which is great.”
