GREAT Britain’s young players will compete on home soil this year and in 2014 after Ice Hockey UK won the right to host two major events.

The Under-20 World Championship (Division 1B) will take place at Dumfries Ice Bowl in Scotland from December 9-15 as GB, led by ex-Swindon Wildcats head coach Pete Russell, take on France, Italy, Japan, Kazakstan and Ukraine.

And the Under-18 World Championship (Division 2A) will run at the same venue from March 24-30 next year. GB are grouped with Croatia, Korea, Lithuania, Netherlands and Romania.
