Oxford Saints suffered their first defeat of the 2013 British American Football Association National South Division season, going down 13-0 at home to the Solent Thrashers.
The Saints offense was stifled by a strong Solent side who scored a touchdown in each half to cruise to victory.
Despite strong performances from Jonny Dover and captain Dean Bryan, Oxford struggled to find any rhythm when they had the ball and were undone by a long touchdown in the second quarter.
As the third quarter drew to a close, Solent extended their lead to 13 points and Oxford could not mount a recovery.
The Saints must now lick their wounds and prepare for the visit of the Bournemouth Bobcats on Sunday.
