SWINDON TOWN: Ajose in Swindon switch
SWINDON Town were last night awaiting Football League approval for the loan signing of Peterborough striker Nicky Ajose.
As revealed on www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk yesterday, Ajose has agreed to move to the County Ground until January, adding to Town’s limited attacking options in the process.
Ajose, who has scored 21 career goals in 96 appearances after graduating from the Manchester United academy, has struggled to break into the Peterborough first team since making the permanent switch to London Road in the summer of 2011.
He has spent time out on loan at Scunthorpe, Chesterfield, Crawley and Bury over the course of the past two years.
Ajose could make his Swindon debut against Crewe this afternoon, depending on when approval is received from the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, defender Troy Archibald-Henville has been allowed to move to Carlisle United on loan as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury.
As broken by the Adver yesterday, Archibald-Henville will link up with the Cumbrians for a month.
Elsewhere, Swindon have still not given up in their pursuit of Millwall’s Dany N’Guessan.
The Robins remain hopeful they can bring the forward to Wiltshire before the summer transfer window shuts on Monday.
Wes Thomas of Bournemouth is another player that continues to interest Town, and a third bid for the striker could well be in the offing if a move for N’Guessan is not able to be completed. Town have already had two approaches for the striker rebuffed by the Cherries.
