TAPES-UP: Frustrating break for Kildemand
ROBINS rider Peter Kildemand is set to spend the next few weeks pounding the streets of Odense due to his reduced end of season schedule.
With Polish side Lodz and Swedish club Vargarna not making the play-offs Kildemand is left with only the Danish and British leagues at the end of a hectic season, with the Robins only scheduled meeting in the next three weeks against Lakeside next Monday.
Only one regular season meeting remains in his homeland as Fjelsted travel to Holsted on Wednesday, and while the Dane is frustrated to have so few meetings he is set to hit the streets as he bids to stay sharp for the play-offs.
“I don’t do the play-offs in Poland or Sweden now and I’m only over here and Denmark, so I won’t really be doing anything which is a bit frustrating,” he said.
“I will try to relax a bit and sleep a bit, but I will also try and do some practice too because it’s important to stay sharp.
“I love to run and I run a lot, and when the season’s not in I do motocross to keep the balance, but I won’t do that while the season is on.
“Probably I will be sleeping and running and go to the gym a bit, and it will be nice to see my friends too.
“Now the season is coming to an end it is nice to see friends again and a lot of them help me out and watch me so it’s pretty good.”
Kildemand returned to the Robins team on Thursday for the 50-43 victory over Poole having missed Monday’s clash between the two teams with a suspected concussion, and was pleased his 12+1 was able to help Swindon make sure of their place in the play-offs.
“I feel so much better and back to normal, and although I’m tired I feel back to normal now and my head is fine,” he said.
“It was good to be back and helping the team out, and we managed to get all the points which is really what we wanted.
“It was hard to miss a meeting, but I’m back and we booked our place in the play-offs so it’s all good.”
