SWINDON TOWN: N'Guessan reveals Ward's influence in Swindon move
DANY N’Guessan has revealed that Darren Ward player a major role in his decision to make the switch to Swindon Town this week.
Ward and N’Guessan played together at Millwall until the former joined Town in August last year and Ward promoted the club to his old teammate while the Robins were pursuing their number one transfer target this summer.
N’Guessan revealed in conversation with the Advertiser that seeing Ward thrive at the County Ground, coupled with the positive dialogue he had with the Swindon skipper, convinced him that Wiltshire was the right place to be.
“I spoke to Darren and I like Darren because he is a good, good, good professional and when he talks he talks well,” he said.
“When I saw him here doing well and when I spoke to him too, after he had the same situation at Millwall, I saw him happy and everything was behind him it was good.”
N’Guessan will be part of the Town squad at MK Dons tomorrow and he can’t wait to introduce himself to Swindon fans and help the club into the Championship.
“I just want to play football so I’m looking forward to the start of the season for me on Saturday with Swindon. I’m very happy today,” he said.
“I’m going to bring my determination, that’s for sure, and I want to do well. I think if you give 100 per cent everything is going to come through.
“I want to go to the Championship. They’ve got Championship football. I hope we do well and go up.”
