BROOME Manor’s youngsters edged out their rivals from Wrag Barn in a friendly match.

The two clubs share a 4-4 draw in the matchplay contest but Broome’s home players secured the win on holes up.

Home pro Lee Hayward organised the match to give youngsters a feel for competitive golf.

He said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the younger golfers of Broome Manor and Wrag Barn to get a taste of playing matches.

“This is part of the junior development that we encourage at Broome Manor.

“I was very proud of how the children showed good etiquette and played in the true spirit of the game and they can’t wait for the return match at Wrag Barn.”
