Hans eyes the medal places in Croatia
SWINDON captain Hans Andersen still believes he can claim a place on the European Championship rostrum as he prepares for the penultimate round in Croatia this evening.
The Dane has finished agonisingly close to making the semi-final in both of the opening two rounds of the new series, and lies seven points behind Britain’s world champion elect Tai Woffinden who currently holds third place in the SEC behind injured Russian Emil Sayfutdinov and Nicki Pedersen.
Andersen has enjoyed his European Championship experience so far but it looking to turn his decent form into big points when the series moves on to Gorican tonight.
“It’s been pretty good and they’ve done it really well because they haven’t copied the GP and have tried to do their own thing which is good,” he said.
“The two rounds we have done so far have been pretty good and the one in Russia was very successful and the crowd noise and the atmosphere was amazing.
“I have practice at Gorican on Saturday morning and we will see how we go, but with two rounds to go my gap from a medal place is only seven points and it hasn’t gone too badly.
“I’ve missed out on the semis on count back but I’ve been getting the race wins, so Gorican will be the perfect place to get a big score.”
