HELLENIC LEAGUE: 'Could have been 10'...but it's defeat for Highworth
HIGHWORTH striker TJ Bohane believes his side should have scored 10 goals before eventually suffering a 3-2 loss away at Newbury.
The Worthians slipped three goals down before pulling two back through Richie Saunders and Bohane, but despite numerous chances they were unable to level matters.
Bohane admitted he and his fellow forwards allowed a number of good chances to go begging in a Hellenic Premier match he believes they should have comfortably won.
“We lost 3-2 but had 12 or 15 chances and should have scored at least 10, and it was one of those days in front of goal for everyone really,” he said.
“We missed quite a few including a few one on ones, but everyone misses a few chances now and again.
“After that we’re disappointed because we had the chance to move up to second in the league but that chance has gone because we should have won quite comfortably.
“It’s so frustrating but it’s just a day we have to move on from. It’s a positive we are making so many chances but we are conceding a lot too which is a worry.
“They created a fair amount too but we were the much better although they scored three and we only scored two, and it’s as simple as that.”
Elsewhere in league action, Purton recorded a superb 4-0 victory over Division One West leaders Shortwood reserves which moves the Red House club into a share of top spot.
Blaine Fitzgerald scored twice with further goals from Ashley Gooch and Scott Campbell.
