Budget wine on the menu for Mourinho at Town
JOSE Mourinho might have to settle for a budget bottle of plonk post-match tonight, as Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper can only serve the Special One his Blossom Hill finest.
Mourinho is known to enjoy fine wines, with a vintage red his tipple of choice, but this evening he’ll have to celebrate or drown his sorrows with something a little less elegant.
Instead of a budget-blowing, hundred-plus pound bottle, Cooper is set to serve Chelsea’s manager a glass or two from the three for a tenner aisle.
“Apparently he likes a drop of red wine but he’ll have to make do with Blossom Hill because that’s all we’ve got in the room,” said Cooper.
“All managers look up to him, he’s done fantastically and he’s one of the best managers in the world. I’d certainly like the opportunity to talk to him and pick his brains.
“He’s been one of the best over the last few years, he’s won the Champions League twice and won countless titles - I look forward to meeting him very much.”
Town will look the part for the occasion, even if their wine rack isn’t up to much, as the Robins have recently been fitted for new suits.
“Apparently we are getting new attire. We’ve been fitted for it a couple of weeks ago and hopefully that will arrive in time,” said Cooper.
“I’m not sure it will be of the calibre that Jose will be wearing but we’ll try.”
