SPEEDWAY LIVE: Swindon Robins v Poole Pirates
This live event has finished

- ROBINS: Hans Andersen (2-2'-3-0-3) 10+1; Edward Kennett (1'-3-3-1) 8+1; Peter Kildemand (3-2-1-2) 8; Nick Morris (2'-1'-3-FX) 6+2; Troy Batchelor (2-3-3-1-1) 10; Lewis Kerr (1-1-0) 2; Kyle Howarth (3-1'-0-1'-3) 8+2.
- PIRATES: Darcy Ward (3-3-4^-2'-2) 14+1; Tomas H Jonasson (0-FX-2-1') 3+1; Greg Hancock (0-4^-2-3) 9; Rohan Tungate (1-0-0-1') 2+1; Maciej Janowski (3-1-2-3-0) 9; Josh Grajczonek (0-0-1'-0-2) 3+1; Micky Dyer (2-0-0) 2.
Troy Batchelor talked me through a tough night's work which saw him beat two Poole tactical rides and snatch a vital point from Maciej Janowski on the final corner of heat 15.
"I had to earn my points tonight, and it's probably the hardest 10 points I will ever earn, but I had a few big races and beat the two tac rides which could have changed the meeting round.
"In heat 15 the Poole guys were sticking together and Darcy was riding him home well, but I attacked Maciej on the outside for three laps and he probably thought he was going to do it again on the last corner but I went inside and I got him.
"Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but this time I played the game right and managed to get a point."
10:24pm Mon 23 Sep 13
Sounds like a great meeting and nicely poised. Would fancy our chances with a 10 point lead.
Time for some reaction, sorry for the delay, deadline has been and gone.
After a cracking night's speedway Robins take a ten point lead to Poole next week. That's good & I can't wait. #adverspeedway #swindonrobins— @redmonster53 23 September 2013
So the Robins have the double figure lead Rosco wanted. Reaction to come.
Heat 15: Andersen, Ward, Batchelor, Janowski; 67.80 – 52-42
Andersen wins with ease but after trying every line Batchelor dive bombs Janowski in the final corner to make a superb pass. Superb.
Word is Morris has only suffered a concussion.
Andersen and Batchelor go off two and four, Janowski and Ward off one and three.
Hearing that Nick actually wanted to get up and felt okay, but the paramedics insisted on taking a few precautions.
Morris is being moved onto a stretcher as he prepares to go into the ambulance.
Ambulance out on the track to attend Morris.
Heat 14: Howarth, Grajczonek, Tungate, Morris FX; awarded – 48-40
Morris passes Tungate for third and then looks to storm past Grajczonek on the final lap but falls and the race is awarded.
Red lights on on the final lap of heat 14 as Morris pushes way too hard and hits the fence. Surely will be awarded.
Howarth in for Kerr and Grajczonek in for Dyer. Big chance for the Robins to take a heat advantage.
That just goes to show it's not all over yet.
Heat 13 (re-run): Janowski, Ward, Batchelor, Andersen; 68.24 – 45-37
After an unsatisfactory start it looked as though Batchelor had made the jump but he was beaten by both Poole riders.
Darcy Ward and Peter Kildemand do battle
Heat 13 called back for unsatisfactory start, and we're straight back round for the start.
@AndyWarren_ Batch is the MOM already - he's managed to deny two tacticals by Poole which could be crucial.....— @chisy10 23 September 2013
That'll do just fine now. Two more 3-3s in heat 13 and 15 and a heat advantage in 14 and the Robins are surely in the final.
Long way to go though.
Heat 12: Hancock, Kildemand, Howarth, Grajczonek; 68.69 – 44-32
Hancock gates to win his first heat of the evening, but the Robins pack in as Howarth does well to hold off Grajczonek.
Kerr should really be paid for a point there, he did such a good job of holding up Ward in turn one.
How important will thay be in the context of the tie? Huge I say.
Heat 11: Batchelor, Ward, Jonasson, Kerr; 68.17 - 41-29
Ward completely misses the start and is held up in the first corner by a very clever move from Kerr, and Batchelor holds on for a very important win.
Massive victory from Batchelor over Ward in black and white!
@AndyWarren_ let him go.2nd and 3th is fine— @speedwaysarah 23 September 2013
And Ward is in black and white. Last chance for them to get back in it.
Former Town keeper Fraser Digby has just done the 50/50 draw, with a large amount of the money raised being donated to Ashley Birks.
Surely Darcy will be out in black and white in the next one?
Heat 10: Andersen, Hancock, Kennett, Tungate; 68.59 – 38-24
Andersen goes by Hancock on the back straight to win, and Kennett every so nearly joins him.
Morris has been brilliant so far, just the six points from his three rides but has earned them the hard way.
Heat nine: Morris, Janowski, Kildemand, Dyer; 67.33 – 34-22
Kildemand almost comes to grief in turn one, but Morris turns back to pass Janowski before having to do so again on lap three.
Dyer back in for Poole in place of Grajczonek
Seven heats completed. Robins 4 heat wins to Pirates 3. But in all 7 heats the Pirates have finished last. Great consistency. #adverspeedway— @redmonster53 23 September 2013
Heat eight: Kennett, Jonasson, Grajczonek, Howarth; 67.77 – 30-20
Kennett gets over everyone from the outside gate to win, but Howarth is boxed in in turn one and despite being quicker than Grajczonek he can’t get past.
Grajczonek in for Dyer for heat eight.
That was magic from both Robins. Batchelor really clamped Hancock in the first turn and Kerr looked steady. Tungate nowhere.
Heat seven: Batchelor, Hancock (tactical), Kerr, Tungate; 67.55 – 27-17
With Hancock on a tactical Batchelor gets over at him from the start from gate two and does his job to earn a superb win. Great from Kerr too.
Hancock goes in black and white for Poole in the next one.
Heat six: Kennett, Andersen, Janowski, Grajczonek; 67.27 – 23-13
Great gate from Kennett wins it, and Andersen holds off Maciej for another maximum.
I'm guessing the Robins will probably be quite pleased with this one so far.
Heat five (re-run): Ward, Kildemand, Morris, Jonasson FX; 67.72 – 18-12
Jonasson is excluded after spinning and taking our Morris, and Ward wins the re-run easily.
What a heat 3 from @morra2012. Blocks @GregHancock45 turn 1 & goes on to take 2nd place behind @peterkildemand awesome 5-1. #adverspeedway— @redmonster53 23 September 2013
Jonasson is excluded.
Red lights on in the first corner after Jonasson spun and took Morris with him. Jonasson is getting treatment, Morris is up and away.
@AndyWarren_ fantastic from Morris— @speedwaysarah 23 September 2013
Track grading done, and we're back to the racing. Kildemand out next.
Heat four: Janowski, Batchelor, Howarth, Dyer; 67.83
Janowski wins from the gate.
How big could that be for the Robins? Superb ride from Morris.
Heat three: Kildemand, Morris, Tungate, Hancock; 68.57 – 12-6
Kildemand makes a stormer while Kildemand misses the start, but Morris rides superbly to carve Tungate up and find his way through.
That was a huge ride from Howarth who looked superb, and Kerr rode really well too.
Heat two: Howarth, Dyer, Kerr, Grajczonek; 68.30 – 7-5
Pirates jump out on a 5-1 but Howarth superbly goes from third to first by turn one, lap two, and Kerr sneaks past Grajczonek and holds on despite a couple of mistakes.
Birmingham take a 5-1 in their opening heat at Monmore.
Great ride from Ward, but Jonasson was slow which is a really good sign for the Robins.
Heat one: Ward, Andersen, Kennett, Jonasson; 66.86 – 3-3
Andersen makes the gate and leads out of turn one, but Ward has too much speed and gets through on the first back straight. Jonasson slow at the back.
Riders at the tapes for heat one, here we go!
Swindon Town chairman Jed McCrory is with us this evening.
Parade has been and gone, and we are just waiting for Sky now. We are at their mercy this evening.
Time to save the world.— @garypatchett 23 September 2013
The most worrying part of Rosco's late arrival is that he had one of Troy Batchelor's engines with him, but both have now arrived safe and sound, thankfully.

Rosco has arrived!
The Robins just won the toss and have taken one and three.
Still no sign of Rosco in the pits, but I'm assured he will be here.
Looks like a big crowd, and why not, it's the play-offs. Excited? You betcha. #adverspeedway #swindonrobins— @redmonster53 23 September 2013

A really good atmosphere down in the pits this evening, plenty of good friends on either side.
Hearing that there is a bit of an issue with Rosco this evening, who has yet to arrive at the track tonight after breaking down driving his lorry today. Robins bosses confident he will be here in time.

Here's wishing Ashley all the best for a speedy recovery from his injury.
Good luck to the team tonight. We will need a cushion of 8 points minimum IMO.
#speedway predictions: Swindon to win tonight's 1st leg by 5-9 points. Poole to overturn the deficit in the 2nd leg. Pirates to win title.— @ianwadleyecho 23 September 2013
A reminder that the Robins are without injured reserve Ashley Birks this evening after his operation on his back following Friday's crash, with Lewis Kerr in as a guest.
