SWINDON SUNDAY LEAGUE: Neighbours FS Swindon edge 16-goal thriller

NEIGHBOURS FS Swindon and Windmill served up a 16-goal epic in the Knockout Cup, with the latter winning 11-5.
The game started brightly and Windmill were quickly two goals to the good before Phil Lovell and Tom Brown levelled it up again, all within the first 10 minutes.
The Windmill’s third goal was the catalyst for the home side’s heads dropping and by half time the score was 9-2.
FS Swindon came out a lot brighter in the second half and were helped out by visitng keeper Ben King who had what club secretary Colin Yates desbribed as a “Rob Green Moment” when his error allowed Jamie Tuck to score FS Swindon’s fifth.
Windmill’s goals came courtesy of four from Matty Bennett, a Josh McGrory hat-trick, Max Schofield’s brace and singles from Yates and Terry Dearing.
Elsewhere, Wanborough beat Chisledon 6-0 with goals from Lee Gratton (2) Pete Myall, Dan Mastalerz , a debut goal from Mike Lane and sub Matt Lyons.
FC Walcot beat Rug Shack 6-2 with three goals for Jason Milhench and singles from Aaron Maximen, Levi Cox and Ashley Bragg. Jason Rouse and Dwain Henry were the Shack’s scorers.
Wheatsheaf won 9-2 at Robnor Resins with Lewis Chatwin and Terry Bohane each scoring twice added to by goals from Nicky Welch, Mark Chatwin, Mike McClusky, Lavel King and Glenn Armstrong.
Pete Byrne and Jack Andrews were on target for the home side.
Cheney ran out comfortable 5-0 winners against Tap & Barrel, the goals being scored by James Pratt, Billy Ellis, Arran Welland with two and a Liam Preedy penalty.
There was a 14-goal thriller between Running Horse and Fox and Hounds with the away side securing a 9-5 success, Blaine Fitzgerald chipped in with four, Jamie Sheppard with two, and Jake Johnson, Ashley Gooch and James Guthrie completed the tally.
The home side’s five came courtesy of a four-timer from Josh Fowler and one from player-manager Mason Worthington. The Greyhound cruised to a 10-0 victory over Tawny Owl with Terry Moore helping himself to five, Steve Robertson and Dave Gee a brace each, with Lewis Page completing the rout. In the Chairman’s Trophy, Trak FC demolished DBS 8-0 with Billy Sly bagging four goals, Richie Miles scored two added to by Adam Webb and Sam Ockwell singles.
Cleeve Tech were 5-3 victors over Marlborough Town Casuals thanks to a Matty Horsell hat-trick and Ash Andrews double.
The visitors responded with two goals from Harry Etheridge and one from Tom Wren.
RJ Aerials FC beat Swindon Athletic 5-3. Kev Neal and Todd Mears scored two apiece and Jason Tatum made up the Aerials’ total.
Jacob Marsh and an Ashley Devenney double was the Athletic response.
