SWINDON TOWN: Anxious wait as Ranger faces scan
NILE Ranger will today undergo a scan to determine the extent of the groin injury the striker sustained in the Capital One Cup defeat to Chelsea.
Ranger felt a pop just seven minutes into the clash at the County Ground on Tuesday night but battled on until half-time, at which point he was replaced by Louis Thompson.
It is understood that the Swindon Town hierarchy have very real fears that the frontman could be ruled out of action for several weeks, although manager Mark Cooper told the Advertiser yesterday that he remains hopeful Ranger will be available to him at Preston on Saturday.
The Robins boss was not willing to speculate on the extent of the injury prior to receiving the results of the forward’s scan.
