SWINDON TOWN: Grayson set to pay Robins respect
6:00am Friday 27th September 2013 in Sport
SIMON Grayson has said his Preston North End side will treat Swindon Town with respect when the two teams meet at Deepdale tomorrow.
Grayson has had nothing but positive reports of the Robins land on his desk over the past few weeks and he anticipates a thorough examination of his so-far unbeaten North End outfit this weekend.
The former Blackpool, Leeds and Huddersfield boss has led the Lilywhites to four victories from their last four League One outings, but he recognised the threat Town pose to that run on Saturday.
“We have had Swindon watched three or four times,” he said. “The reports back to me, coupled with what I saw when I went to see them on Tuesday, say that they are a really good, strong passing team.
“They have some exuberant young players on their books from Premier League clubs and are one of the best teams in the division in terms of passing the ball around.
“Our scout who watched them at Wolves said they absolutely battered Wolves yet lost 3-2. This is a really tough game for us because of how Swindon play, how they manoeuvre the ball around and create space. On this occasion we might have to be a little bit patient at home.
“They gave Chelsea a good game. They will know what we are capable of, there will be respect both ways.”
