SWINDON TOWN: Cooper confirms Cox bid
MARK Cooper has confirmed Plymouth’s interest in Lee Cox, but he stressed that the midfielder currently remains a part of his plans at Swindon Town.
The Advertiser reported yesterday that Argyle have made a renewed approach to take Cox to Home Park on loan, after he impressed during a stint with the Pilgrims last season.
However, it is believed that the Devon club have thus far only been willing to stump up 50 per cent of the former Inverness man’s wages and Town are not keen to do a deal until that contribution is increased.
Cox has been on the bench for each of Swindon’s last two League One matches, and Cooper appeared to confirm Plymouth’s inquiry when questioned about the player’s status at Monday’s pre-match press conference.
He said: “There have been tentative inquiries but nothing concrete yet. Obviously Plymouth have been spoken about as one of them. He’s part of the squad. Until I hear differently he’s part of the squad and I’ll continue to use him.”
