SWINDON TOWN: Williams hoping for improved away days
SWINDON Town may not have had the easiest start to their away fixture list in 2013/14, but first-team coach Luke Williams is not about to use that as an excuse for their form on the road.
Town have faced four of the top six teams in their first five away games this season and undertake another difficult trip to sixth-placed Rotherham today.
Perhaps there is good reason, therefore, why Swindon’s young side have only collected one point on their travels this term, but Williams insisted that his players fear no one.
“Winning games is the only thing and we’re not scared of any team and we don’t underestimate any team,” he said.
“We know that you can go to anybody in the division away from home and get beat at any time if you’re not organised and not focused on what your jobs are.
“It doesn’t matter who you play at what time, it’s really about us. We feel we are really in the driving seat and if we get it right there is no problem playing anybody.
“If you don’t get the results you are where you are in the division but we certainly feel we’re capable of pushing on now and getting results away from home that we’ve not been getting.
“We’ve had time to reflect and the players are prepared to push themselves and try new things.
“Between the staff and the players we need to look at getting a result away from home.”
