LEE Phillips' late leveller ended Chippenham Town's recent poor run as they earned a point away at Corby on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Collier's visitors arrived on the back of defeats at both Weymouth and Poole Town and trailed twice before Phillips, back in the side following a recent hamstring injury, struck on 86 minutes to earn his side a draw.

Corby grabbed the lead in the dying moments of the first half as Sam Ives' neat finish broke the deadlock.

However, Chippenham levelled just after the hour mark when Joe McClennan crossed and James Guthrie fired home.

The Bluebirds fell behind for a second time 15 minutes from time when Aman Verma fired past Matt Bulman from a free kick.

But Phillips bagged the point his side deserved as he headed home while unmarked in the six-yard box.

In Division One South & West, Cirencester continued their fine recent run with a 4-0 away victory at Bishops Cleeve to move four points clear at the top of the table.

Top scorer grabbed another brace to lead his side to victory, the first coming from the spot after being fouled himself after 21 minutes of the game.

Five minutes later Sean Wood’s ball into the box wasn’t cleared and after having two bites of the cherry Ellis Dunton was there to head the ball home and double the visitors’ advantage.

The Centurions continued to push at every opportunity although they couldn’t convert despite a goalmouth scramble, but Shane Bumphrey did make it three before half-time with a close-range volley.

Smith added a second from the spot after the break to complete the victory on a comfortable afternoon for the side from the Corinium.
