SWINDON & DISTRICT LEAGUE: Fox earn much-needed victory

FOX & Hounds gained a vital win as they continue to battle the drop in the Swindon & District League Premier Division.

An effort from Paul Tewkesbury and an own goal were enough to give Fox a 2-1 win, with Ian McCarthy scoring for Kingsdown.

Sportz Central triumphed 2-1 over DJC Marlborough while Queensfield’s meeting with Swiss Chalet was postponed.

Swindon Spitfires continued to set the pace at the top of Division One courtesy of a 10-0 annihilation of Redhouse.

Lowly Core Construction gained their first league win of the season thanks to a 4-3 victory over Bassett Bulldogs.

Larry’s Plaice remain winless in the league after succumbing 3-2 to Chiseldon.

Two of our sides are still in the Wiltshire Junior Cup, with Fratellos and Old Town securing their path into the quarter-finals at the weekend.

Fratellos won 6-4 at the Lamb while Old Town were given a home walkover while Old Town make the trip to White Horse.
