SWINDON’S Dennis Smith is pleased with his preparation as he bids to cause a major upset when he takes to the World Championship stage against Adrian Lewis on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old’s clash with the two-time world champion takes centre stage at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night and the PDC stalwart hs been busy putting in the hours in preparation.

As well as working on his own Smith has been working with fellow PDC player Ian Moss, who lost to Rob Szabo in the preliminary round on Friday night, as well as playing open tournaments and believes he is now ready to go.

“Things are going well and I’ve been playing some good darts,” he said.

“I’ve been playing with Ian Moss recently and also won the Andover Open and the Swindon Open which is really good preparation.

“I’ve watched some of the darts since it started and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and playing now. I’m going there to cause a shock and I know I can do it.

“Adrian’s a very good player but if I stick to my own game and don’t play his then I have a chance.”
