TEENAGE showjumping prodigy Will Fletcher finished 10th in the Children’s International Classics Final in Brazil.
The 14-year-old, from Woolstone near Faringdon, was drawn a difficult horse but jumped clear every day to qualify for the final.
On the last day of competition Fletcher clocked an unlucky time fault, thus putting an end to his medal hopes, but his performance has been commendable.
Fletcher’s mother Tina, an international showjumper herself, told the Advertiser how pleased she was with her son’s efforts and of the awards he received.
“He finished in 10th place overall and won the award for the most stylish rider and also for the only rider to remain clear in every round,” she said.
“It’s been a wonderful experience for him and I’m really proud of how he rode.”
