SERIOUS doubts have emerged over the Swindon future of Australian Nick Morris.

The youngster was the first rider to put pen to paper on a deal to ride for the Robins in 2014 having originally joined the club two years ago, while he was also due to ride for Somerset in the Premier League next season.

Despite signing a contract with the Rebels he was dropped from the side last week to accommodate Brady Kurtz’ increased average, with the Somerset promotion admitting concerns over his availability due to his involvement with Swindon were central to their decision.

The Australian now faces a fight to find a Premier League club for the new season given a large number of second tier sides are close to completion, while the Robins’ Thursday race night is also a restrictive factor. The Advertiser understands Morris’ desire to ride in both the Elite and Premier Leagues has led him to question his future at Swindon.

Morris, who is currently in Australia, posted on his Facebook page this afternoon: “Big news coming gonna be some upset speedway fans but have to do what's best for myself.”

The Advertiser has been told no deal has yet been agreed with any club other than the Robins and the future of Morris remains undecided at this stage.
