SWINDON Rangers have still yet to drop a point in North Wilts Youth League Under 12 Division One.

Rangers maintained their remarkable 100 per cent league record with a 9-0 victory over Shaw Eagles - a game which featured seven second-half goals.

Leading 2-0 at the break, Rangers ran amock after the interval to emerge comfortable winners as Jack Paines netted four times, Charlie Begley hit a hat-trick and Gregor Thompson contributed two goals of his own.

In Under 13 Division 1 (11v11) a Joe Tyson treble helped Swindon Rangers Allstars tighten their grip on top spot with a 5-2 win over Ferndale Rodbourne.

Ferndale took the lead thanks to Dexter Barrett but Tyson fired Rangers level. Tyson’s cheeky backheel gave the hosts the lead before Dan Hopper fired home two superb goals to put Rangers in control.

Tyson put the game beyond reach before half-time and, though Jason Werrell reduced arrears in the second period for Ferndale, it was not enough.

Blunsdon came away with all three points after their 5-0 victory over Brinkworth Cats in Under 16 Division Two.

Ryan Hawkins kept a clean sheet while Joe Adams scored a brace and Dominic Gowland, Liam Yeates and Jack Ahrens grabbed a goal apiece.

In the Under 11 Wiltshire County Cup, Greenmeadow progressed through to quarter-finals with a comprehensive 13-00 win over Chippenham. There were nine different players aon the scoresheet for Greenmeadow, as Rowan Doyle netted a hat-trick, Cyril Koomson and Thomas Lane both scored twice and Max Whitfield, Joe McGrogan, Felipe De Abreu Dias, Josh Sawford and Jamie White also registered.

l OVER the last few weeks teams from the under seven, under eight and under nine leagues in the North Wilts Youth League have been participating in Trophy Event matches in accordance with new FA guidelines.

Trophy Events are designed to be short-term experiences, helping children learn about winning and losing in an appropriate environment.
