TIME is running out to nominate your Sports Personality of the Year and Unsung Hero as part of the Advertiser’s 2013 Sports Awards.

Voting is already under way for eight categories in this year’s awards ahead of a glittering ceremony on February 27 but there is still time to nominate someone special for two prestigious prizes, which recognise the work of people across the Swindon sporting spectrum.

Whether they are a groundsman, a tea lady, an exceptional coach, a dedicated parent or a long-serving player, we want to hear your nominations for the Unsong Hero award, which rewards an individual who has contributed heavily to their chosen sport without wanting anything in return.

The Sports Personality award is for the man or woman who has made a big impact on Swindon sport in 2013, at whatever level it may be.

“These awards give us an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of many of our sportsmen and women from across the region,” said Adver sports editor Steve Butt.

“From the young footballers playing in the North Wilts Youth League to our top equestrian talent, Great British skater hockey internationals and golf’s up and coming superstars, this presentation evening brings together the very best Swindon and the surrounding area has to offer.

“It’s a highlight of the Adver sportsdesk calendar but we need the help of our readers.”
