Don't know why comments like these get thumbs down, Hall is a terrible player. I noticed this in his first home game, and he just doesn't have the distribution, physical stature, mentality or footballing brain to play as a regular centre half at league one level, he is at very best a sub for a team at the lower end of this table.

Good news in my eyes, it gives Branco the chance to step up and maybe even a new signing?

I never wish injury on any player, but i believe this may be a good thing for the team, and our defence.

Time will tell.

Not nice to wish harm on the young lad but this was the only way we could see our team without him like we have all been calling for but Coopers hands have been tied by Hall`s must play contract.

Blessing in disguise, much as I hate to say it. Being forced into playing Hall meant there was no chance of him being dropped even when he hasn't done well, and playing him out of position (left back, two games in a row??? terrible decision).

Obviously it's a bad thing for the player and I wouldn't wish an injury on anyone but if we have to take a positive from this, then it's Branco getting a run in the side and trying something different. If it works well and there're improvements at the back, I can't see any point in Hall staying as he won't be left on the bench once fit again. By my count this could keep Hall out of the side until mid March and TAH may even be fit by then (although part of me reckons he'll never be fit enough to play for us again and his contract may end up being cancelled).

Some pretty sad people slagging the guy off. Although I agree he is a poor defender to state on here some of the comments people have made is pretty poor. I wish him well and maybe he needs a break.
Now we have to get a loan player in as cover unless Troy is now going to be back quicker who knows but two weeks were quoted this week until he's ready. The fact a striker or any additional players haven't been signed yet is a bit worrying as we need fresh faces having said that most transfers are done in the last couple of days so fingers crossed we can get a couple in as we have some tough games coming up.

Halls misfortune should show just who is right or wrong about him. I have mentioned many a time he has cost us many goals which has led to defeats so now the proof should be in the pudding. No one should ever gloat about him being injured but if the contract states he must play if fit then its understandable why some are feeling this way. Injury was the only way we could find out if he was the weakest link I suppose. I would love to see Troy Arch and Rossi Branco at the back now.

Cooper said the other day that troy played well in a game against Birmingham and we will probably send him out on loan. Halls been poor this season but so has ward and jays mac has cost us as well. It gets me when cooper keeps going on about us. Needing a new number 9. It's defenders we need not strikers.

Have to agree Grim - think you and I were making the same point i.e. no-one's glad he's injured but the silver lining is we now have the opportunity to change the lineup. Difference being I laid it on pretty thick as I knew some would take the moral high ground.

In better news looks we could have signed a big forward with a decent strike rate, see latest story on the site.

Di kanny oh and Grim should both be totally ashamed of themselves, particularly DKO who is stupid enough to side with Grim's obvious wind up.

Inspiron and David Syrett talked enormous sense on here earlier, no true supporter of any club would be pleased to see a young lad like Grant Hall badly injured.

DKO and Grim have exposed themselves once and for all as posters of extremely limited intelligence and totally spineless.

I hope Hall recovers and very much sooner rather than later.

It's disappointing it takes an injury for this young man to lose his place in the team. I personally do not think he is as bad as some on here seem to think. the partnership with Ward has not been very productive, but whose to say with another centre back he wouldn't have been so vulnerable. i hope he spends his next 6 weeks in the gym and beefs himself up and comes back stronger and better.

I was impressed with Branco from the first time I saw him in the JPT 2nd round, (Grant had a good game too on that occasion by the way) I'm disappointed other fans that don't attend these games have had to wait until recently to see his potential. it's now time for Wardy to show the kind of form and leadership he did against Posh starting this Saturday against manageless Shrews. Just seen the Ajose hat-trick for Posh who are now up to 5th. fergie must be really pleased he has benefited from his loan to us, good luck to the lad

Agree with you on your best wishes to Grant LeGod,

No possibility to comment on the breaking news article of a new striker coming to town, so it sounds like you had one finger crossed with Smith joining us from Charlton, Big lad, with some decent service could be a good signing.

Would still like to see another competitive mid-fielder brought in and possibly another centre back if Cooper/Power intend to send Troy out on loan.

feel sorry for Hall, clearly got a lot of talent and hopefully will come good. You are not going to be on the Spurs books for no reason. I just think he is prone to mistakes that have gone on to be costly but he does seem to make more than others but this is likely to be his age. Centre halves normally are their best in late 20's.

Michael Smith has signed for Town according to some sources for 200k from Charlton 6'4" striker and scores goals just 22 years old sounds like someone to push Ranger if he is still here. Hope the news is true.

Clearly he hasn't got a lot of talent or he would have been loaned out to a Championship side.Just what game-or games-do you base your findings? When the majority on here watch him, week in and out and make a considered judgement on his performances may I suggest you are on your own with with your assessment. He has cost us a lot of goals this season and is clearly not up to it even at our level.

MR
Couldn't agree more mate. Nothing personal against him but he's soooo hesitant, nervy and uncomfortable on and off the ball I really am amazed he got to anywhere near this level. You can make excuses for him after a couple of games but he's played nearly every time now and I haven't seen any improvement.

Don't want to gang up on one player but he massively affects our ability to get the ball out of defence, and then when he was moved to full back, same problem down the left flank.

Sorry, not good enough

I watch him every home match and feel he has at times been unfairly singled out. The considered opinions from those on here that watch him regularly are not those of managers of football teams but passionate supporters and their opinion is often based on a result.

You are of course entitled to your opinion but if you feel it is okay to put down a rookie and rejoice in his injury then I despair. Bearwood is not on his own in his judgement and your statement, based on a minority of posters on here, has no validity (9 out of 10 owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred it, well they would wouldn' t they and why only 9 out of 10).

Please don't assume that you opinion is that of everyone. If you know what a scapegoat is then you may know that, IMO, we have had one on these boards for the 3 or so years I have been posting. Dossevi AND Pericard, Devera (til we started to win), Collins and now Hall/Ward. Who next season ?

Football is a team game and when we lose we lose as a team. Some players are in positions where mistakes are punished and it is often easy to criticise them when the cause is elsewhere (look at the comments from the Gillingham match day thread).

We will see if Grant is a championship player next season or so I suspect. You may eat your words and so might I.
