ADAPTABLE Mark Flanagan insists he is willing to play anywhere for Swindon Supermarine as long as he gets a game.

The recent signing, brought in from Oxford City Nomads primarily as a left-back, has played in variety of positions over the years - including in goal - and says he is more than happy to continue in that vein.

“I feel I could play in any position, as long as I'm playing I wouldn't really care,” he said.

“I've played left-midfield, centre-midfield, left-back, centre-back, anywhere really. I even played in goal for a couple of games for Oxford City Nomads inside the last few seasons.

“I'm willing to do anything and I just decided to have a go at being in goal.

“It might be beneficial to me to play in different positions as it will give me a good chance of getting in the team.”

Flanagan has only turned out twice for Marine since signing at the start of the year due to the wet weather, but says that a lack of games is not necessarily a negative.

“It's been frustrating not to play, but in a way it's actually been quite good,” he said.

“We've been able to do more training sessions and I've got to know the lads a little bit better and work out how they want me to play during matches.

“I'd be more than happy to play lots of games in the next few months when the fixtures increase.

“At Oxford City Nomads we played two games a week since the start of the season, so it's not something I'm particularly worried about.”
