10:11pm

That's it for tonight but don't forget to pick up your copy of the Adver tomorrow for all the action and reaction from tonight's game.

10:10pm

10:07pm

Apologies for the gaps in reaction this evening. Newspaper deadlines and all that.

9:52pm

A little more from Mark Cooper now, who praised Dany N'Guessan's performance this evening.

Swindon Advertiser: Dany N'Guessan causing problems for Colchester

DANY N'GUESSAN

“Dany came to see me and we had a frank discussion, I showed him some clips because I didn’t think he had been working hard enough and he agreed. He came back tonight and was outstanding.

“To play for this club and in this team you have to work until you have blood coming out your ears. Dany did that tonight and set his standard now.”

9:44pm

Cooper is also considering appealing Jay McEveley's red card.

Swindon Advertiser: Jay McEveley in action

JAY MCEVELEY

“I’ve seen it again and it was very very harsh, Jay had his eyes on the football and the guy’s ducked into it.”

9:42pm

The Town boss then went on to talk about the game.

Swindon Advertiser: Mark Cooper

MARK COOPER

“We tried to play on a cabbage patch of a pitch and my only disappointment is we haven’t won because we outplayed them with 10 men. It’s all set up to be a fantastic tie in two weeks.

“They were 2-0 up without doing anything, they hadn’t laid a glove on us and they didn’t have to try but from there we were outstanding. For me, that is the best display with 10 men I’ve seen.”

9:41pm

First things first, Mark Cooper has revealed the fan who was given CPR has regained consciousness.

Swindon Advertiser: Mark Cooper

MARK COOPER

“There were obviously horrible scenes at the end which thankfully you don’t want to witness but thankfully they regained consciousness and that’s the most important thing.”

9:31pm

Reaction to come from this game, but no doubt Mark Cooper will be the happier manager.

9:25pm

FULL-TIME: Peterborough 2 Swindon Town 2

9:25pm

The corner flies across the Town box but Ranger, and then Thompson, clear before the referee gives a free-kick to the Robins.

9:24pm

Corner to Posh. There's can't be more than a minute left now.

9:22pm

Town win a corner and win another as they try and keep it there to see out the clock.

Thoughts are with the supporter that needs all our prayers at this moment - nothing else.

9:22pm

The fan has is leaving London Road by ambulance.

9:21pm

We are back underway and into five minutes of added time.

9:19pm

London Road is, rightfully, subdued. Some things are more important than football.

9:18pm

The Peterborough players are back out and are soon followed by Town.

9:15pm

The PA announcer has said the game will continue once the fan is moved to the medical centre in the corner of the ground.

9:12pm

The players are being taken off the field as treatment continues.

9:11pm

The fan is still being treated.

9:11pm

SUBSTITUTION: Byrne is on for Gladwin. 88

9:07pm

Play has been stopped as a Peterborough fan recieves treatment. It looks pretty serious as they are surrounded by paramedics.

9:04pm

A few Town legs seem to be tiring out there, not surprising given they've played nearly an hour with 10 men. Byrne could be an option off the bench.

9:03pm

80 minutes: Knight-Percival heads over from Kearns’ corner. Should have been a goal, he was all alone.

8:58pm

POSH SUBSTITUTION: Brisley is taken off and replaced by Joe Newell. 77

8:52pm

8:52pm

Dany N'Guessan is being asked to patrol the entire left side of the pitch following McEveley's red card. He's doing so superbly.

8:49pm

YELLOW CARD: Yaser Kasim is booked for dissent. 69

8:48pm

68 minutes: Rowe heads towards goal from a corner but sees his effort held up in the win, leaving Foderingham in two minds whether to come for it. He doesn’t but is lucky to see the ball trickle into lap while lying on the ground.

8:47pm

67 minutes: The 10 men of Town continue to venture forward but when the ball falls to Louis Thompson he fires wide, very wide.

8:43pm

63 minutes: Luongo forces his way forward and into the box as the ball threatens to get away from him but when he pulls it back for Gladwin, the youngster can only fire off target.

8:37pm

If you fall over this evening, it's a free kick.

8:34pm

54 minutes: From the free-kick Ward heads towards goal from the edge of the area but he can’t quite hit the target.

8:33pm

YELLOW CARD: Bostwick drags down Luongo and is booked. 53

8:30pm

Can see another red card coming in this game. Thompson and Branco the leading contenders for me.

8:28pm

47 minutes: Thompson does really well to get across and block Knight-Percival’s shot.

8:23pm

Off and running again here at London Road. Let's see what this half brings!

8:23pm

POSH SUBSTITUTION: Jermaine Anderson replaces Grant McCann 45

8:22pm

Here come Town who appear to be as we were.

8:21pm

Peterborough are out for the second period and it looks as though Jermaine Andersen is about to come on.

8:10pm

Enjoy your 15-minute breather.

8:07pm

HALF-TIME: Peterborough 2 Swindon Town 2

8:07pm

GOAL 2-2 (Brisley og 45+5) The 10 men of Town are level after Brisley slices Gladwin’s low cross into his own net. What a half of football this is!

8:04pm

YELLOW CARD: The cards keep coming as Rowe is booked for a foul on Thompson.

8:02pm

Five minutes added on.

8:02pm

42 minutes: Foderingham is able to grab Rowe’s header out the air.

8:01pm

POSH SUBSTITUTION: Assombalonga replaced by Danny Kearns. 42

7:59pm

YELLOW CARD: Vassell booked for his challenge on Ward. 39

7:58pm

Assombalonga has gone down the tunnel so that's the last TOwn will see of him.

7:55pm

Seemed pretty harsh to me. Not seen a replay though.

7:54pm

RED CARD: McEveley sent off for clattered Assombalonga. 34

7:50pm

GOAL 2-1 (Ranger 31) Ranger, about two yards offside, tucks the ball home from Kasim’s pass. Town won’t care too much about that.

7:47pm

28 minutes: Town come as close as they have all night as McCann slices McEveley’s corner towards is own goal, where Olejnik just about stops it from crossing the line.

7:46pm

26 minutes: A really nice run forward from Gladwin ends with the former Marlow youngster firing over.

7:44pm

YELLOW CARD: Thompson is booked after over running a dribble forward and taking out Bostwick. 24

7:41pm

22 minutes: McEveley swings s free kick into the box but referee Tierney blows up for a Town foul and the chance is gone.

7:38pm

18 minutes: A combination of three Town players give away a free-kick on the edge of the box but to their relief, Swanson can only curl the ball onto the top of the net.

GOAL PETERBOROUGH 1 TOWN 0 (Branco og 9): The combination of Vassell and Assombalonga win a corner, which is quickly followed by another which flies into the net off Branco.

7:28pm

Seven minutes: Gladwin wins the ball and whips in a really nice cross by N’Guessan at the far post can’t beat his man to the ball. Good start from Town.

7:24pm

Four minutes: Luongo wins a corner but Assombalonga is able to clear with his head.

7:21pm

Two minutes: Nathaniel Knight-Percival has the first shot of the game but he drags it wide.

7:18pm

We've only been playing 40 seconds but you can already see the conditions will have a big impact on this game.

7:04pm

Here are the thoughts of Mark Cooper ahead of this evening's clash...

“It’s easy to respond in training because there’s no pressure on them. It’s how they respond in a game that’s the key for me. Saturday wasn’t acceptable in terms of spirit, in terms of fight, in terms of the way we want to play football.

“We can blame the weather, we can blame the pitch but Oldham wanted to - I would suggest - win a little bit more than us and that’s the thing that hurts. There’s no excuse for that. Whatever team you pick, 11 players have got to roll their sleeves up.

Swindon Advertiser: Town caretaker boss Mark Cooper

MARK COOPER

“Sometimes it’s not about the football, it’s about rolling your sleeves up and wanting to win more than the person you’re playing against. If you fight and scrap hard enough you might to get to play for 10 minutes towards the end, with the way the conditions were.

“We played for 10 minutes when it got desperate and it was too late. We’ve got to bounce back from that quickly and hopefully we can do that tomorrow night.

The big striker is without the Posh’s most potent weapon, having been signed for £1.5 million in the summer. The forward marked his Peterborough debut with an early goal as Posh beat Town here on the opening day and has carried on in the same vein ever since. He now has 22 for the season.

6:36pm

DARREN FERGUSON

Swindon Advertiser: AUDIO: Ferguson says Watford are best footballing team in the Championship
Darren Ferguson is in his second spell at Peterborough boss, and has continued his reputation for attacking football following his return to London Road from Preston.

Following his father’s retirement at the end of last season (his dad is former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson if you didn’t know) he will be keen to at least partially emerge from his shadow.

Posh were relegated from the Championship on the final day of last season, but the junior Fergie knows exactly how to escape League One having done so via the play-offs in 2011.

6:27pm

MAN IN THE MIDDLE

Tonight's referee is Paul Tierney and he has a habit of dishing out red cards.

In 23 matches this season the whistleblower has sent off nine players, including three in a Burton vs Bristol Rovers tie in November.

Let's hope he doesn't mind a slide tackle too much, the conditions are just perfect for it.

6:24pm

ADVER CHIEF SPORTS WRITER SAM MORSHEAD: "Not a lot of width in either side tonight, which means the already stodgy centre circle is going to become very quickly like quicksand.

"It seems to me that Mark Cooper's been fairly astute here, drafting in bulk and power ahead of pace, skill and trickery. Conditions are far from ideal but you'd settle for a dull 0-0."

The Town players have been out on the pitch having a little look and on the whole didn't seem too pleased with what they saw.

Wes Foderingham in particular was watching his step, probably because he has fancy new trainers.

The first thing to report is that the game is ON despite heavy rain in recent days. The pitch is not in great condition at all with plenty of mud pitches around the centre circles and goalmouths, but we will have a game.

With the pitch as heavy as it is, too much of the tippy tappy around our own area could be costly, on this occasion I would think the long ball down field would be the best option, of course that does not mean it should be aimless. Will be glad to get this out of the way. Here's hoping for a decent ref. Any news on that score Sam.

IMO only an excellent display by the lads, with a considered and tactically astute selection by MC.

The usual doom mongers and entirely predictable vocal vitriolic minority that habit this forum can gloat in their perceived higher understanding of all things STFC when the next loss, poor performance or result happens as they surely will - but tonight, you can remain quiet.

They (happy to name them but we all know who you are) just deserve themselves and their own IMO dismal view on football, life and all things STFC - please, start your own forum somewhere else but if you did, suppose it would just be full of the Pox fans anyway, so you won't .

Support your team, accept differing opinions but even in defeat, going forward, how marvellous it would be to still be united as Town fans - which IMO only this forum often lacks.

Great result by the lads, management and the travelling supporters tonight.

Prayers and thoughts for the supporter taken ill - nothing else really matters does it.

Do you want to name possibles as well which can be agreed by myself or not? - if not - you can certainly shut up and leave me to my opinion as yours is often of the most vitriolic kind on this forum and one that I will always dismiss as keyboard warrior nonsense going forward.
So put up or shut up please Spiders, you simply cannot do either can you?

Name ALL of the fans on here you insulted earlier and be careful not to miss any, or shut up please.

Spineless Spiders would be an excellent poster name for you!

Couldn't be there tonight but sounds like a battling performance. Great to see Dany come in and do so well. Hope he gets a 2nd chance because I think the guy deserves it. Sounds like our naughty gangster played well too. Pain that Kasim picked up another yellow and as for Jay ..... not again - though it sounds like he was unlucky and it wasn't his usual red mist. Nathan sounds like he was pushing his luck too, our disciplinary record is bad and unfortunately it is often our best players. To come back from 2-0 down and with 10 men so early in the game is a fantastic achievement. Delighted. COYMR

I have a life to lead so unlike those usual suspects on here or JB, so there is no confusion on this, that might not, who just try and engage in personal attacks - 'Good Night' - you are going to be disappointed.

Neither my style or intellect - I am very happy with this but I doubt if you will be - tough!

Halla flippin luohea Louis T and Yasir in front of the back of the four. Brilliant both of you. Louis T in particular. I've been saying it since early in the season. Superb stuff. Also Massimo brilliant too. Been a massive critic of his but today is the first time I've been convinced about him away from home. Over the moon if he can keep performing like that.

Danny and Nile excellent too and Gladwin if he lifts his head up could also be a hell of a find.

We were by far and away the better team despite being down to ten men. Confident of the second leg but just so hope Coop's works out Louis T and Yasir in front of back 4 and pick the team around them....

Nope lifelong and I won't be at the home leg either. I wish the team well and hope they go on to win the thing but I'm afraid it just leaves me cold because I think it's meaninglesss. I've never taken to it ever since it was called the associate members cup,the LDV and whatever else it's been called. Unlike the league & FA cups we don't compete with the big boys or have the chance to so for me there is not that air of expectation or buzz. I dislike the playoffs as well - the team that comes third over 46 games deserves to go up not the team that finishes sixth. However as we are stuck with them for monetary reasons I go along with them and yes I've enjoyed some Gillingham, Sunderland & Leicester obviously not Millwall.
Also dislike the soulless new Wembley and the pre-match razzamatazz not a patch on the old stadium even if it was dated.
It's a purely personal thing and good luck to anyone who enjoys the JPT and it's baggage - just not for me.

When I switched on the the score was 0-2 .... bit of a shock.. but impressed by the team spirit and standard of the fight back.
Can now see why people rate Nile - did also notice his defensive qualities too.
Gladwin looks good - will do better when more confident and able to look up and pass.
Bit nervous about the Thompson twins they do look liable for a booking with 50% of their tackles.
I'm with Jock on this paint pot trophy and also I find the new Wembley cold and soul less - but in saying that would like to see us do well and win it - if not only for the monetary gain.
Posh must be kicking themselves as they failed to take advantage, but in saying that I think that was down to a sterling display by our 10 men.

Well done Town and Mark C (seems you called it right with the selection and enforced changes)
Also well done away support - could hear you lot above the home lot - with the exception of that bally drum....
