GEORGE Groves, who is trained by Swindon's Paddy Fitzpatrick, will face Carl Froch in a hugely-anticipated re-match, Matchroom Boxing announced today.
Following the controversial finish to the pair's IBF and WBA world title fight last year, Groves has finally been rewarded with a re-match. The bout will take place on May 31 with Wembley and Nottingham Forest Football Club rumoured to be possible venues for the Sky Box Office fight.
Groves, who splits his training between Fitzpatrick's boxing gym in Rodbourne Road and London, is delighted to have got a second shot at Froch.
"I feel blessed that I am getting this fantastic opportunity to participate in what could be Britain's biggest-ever boxing match," said Groves. "I am still shocked that Froch has agreed to take the fight. I respect him for his bravery."
Promoter Eddie Hearn said the fight could be the "biggest fight in British boxing history."
