SWINDON Town have confirmed Miles Storey's loan move to Shrewsbury Town.

As revealed by the Advertiser this morning, Storey trained with the Shrews yesterday before putting pen to paper on a one-month stay at the Greenhous Meadow.

Both Tamworth and Cheltenham were believed to be interested in the 20-year-old, who has opted for a chance to prove himself in League One.

Storey told Shrewsbury's official website: "As soon as I found out that Shrewsbury were interested, I leapt at the chance really to come and join the lads.

"I knew I was looking for a loan club and it all came about very quickly so I'm just really excited now."

Just look at the goals per game ratio and you have your answer.
Results business and as a Supporter I want success.

Or the Powers that be are long sighted!
.
Storey is contracted to 2015 - so loaning him out now - will hoepfully make him better in 2014 and 2015 to the benefit of STFC (and Miles Storey)
.
Anyone who thinks STFC would be better off here and now dropping Ranger for Storey knows nothing aobut football!
.
Can't remember now but who scored vital goals against Posh home, Posh away and at Port Vale away???????

Is it worrying that Pritchard, Mason, Hall, Ajose and Murphy jumped at the chance to come here?
.
Or Flowers, Given, Carrick, Davis, Danny Ward, Hollands to name a few have beforehand?
.
Or is it good that he wants to get out play some games and develop at a player!
.
I like the fans at Norwich were saying about Murphy am delight he is doing this and hope he does really well (especially as it could end up helping relegate Bristol!) and comes back better for it

That is annoying, also they're tickets look almost identical to town's.

Like Storey and wish him well, hopefully he doesn't score too many for the shrews but gets good game time and stays away from injuries. Seems strange he's gone on loan and we still have someone like Barker who is also one for the future, but Storey's a proven player for us, would like to think he'd get in our first team before Barker.

As someone mentioned Murphy, was talking to one of my field team who lives up in Norwich and tells me he's very highly thought of and has been impressed when he's seen him, but just can't force his way into the first team often enough - should be a good prospect for us.

Anyway, happy valentine's day all, playing on a Friday night means I'll be missing out on a game but will be glued to twitter in between steak and champagne with the good lady.

What is this not given a chance stuff - Storey has 12 appearances to his name this season - he obviously has not done enough in those 12 games to warrent a regular starting spot: Goals - 1, Assists - 0, Shots - 5
.
Compare that to Ranger - 10/2/19 or N'Guessan - 8/1/14
.
That's before you go into the othe raspects of their game - i.e. Ranger's hold up play and winning headers up top or defending
.
Other than Coventry where he came on did well can someone tell which of his other 11 games where you have gone - now that was a performance like you would have said for Dany in the JPT or Ranger Posh at home or Smith in any of his games?

To be fair he hasn't had 12 starts this year an when he's played he's changed games. We've looked far better with 2 up front, and his pace has caused problems. After the Villa game where he changed it completely last year I thought he'd be forcing his way into the team but it hasn't happened.

Comparing him to Ranger is harsh, Ranger is a premier league striker and whilst in some peoples eyes a complete tool he's a talented tool. I expect he's on many multiples of Storeys salary so I'd expect nothing less. I would like to see our youth given the chance and when played played in their true positions. You're comparing apples to oranges dude, they're different, I personally think there's space for both

Agree he didn't shine at the start of the season on the wing, but he did shine against Cov when 4-4-2 alongside Ranger and then saw him against Bradford as lone striker in second half when he worked hard and looked a threat.

Hasn't had a real chance since Cov what with injury, Ranger awol, Smith coming in, or 4-5-1 formation featuring Ranger or Ajose as lone striker,

I would certainly like to see him as an impact sub alongside Ranger in a 4-4-2 I think they would compliment each other well. There's an argument for that partnership working better than Ranger and Smith and of course Smith isn't available on Monday. I think Storey offers something different and i bet if given a run of 10 games up top with Ranger he would shine. Smith doesn't seem to read Ranger's flick ons particularly well Storey would take the gamble I'm sure.

Just get the impression Cooper doesn't rate him.

Yes Ranger first choice by a distance for all round game, Smith second choice, but that 3rd choice is up for grabs imo - N'Guessan a different sort of forward and is played as a winger (and I wasn't thrilled with his JPT performance tbh) Barker hasn't looked good so far and then what else is there?

Anyone else think that the match tonight maybe turn into a farce ?

I fear the predicted winds will wreak havoc and we could see the winner coming from the team that score the most goals when the wind is at their backs. Could Wes score tonight ?

Just a bit pessimistic about it and think mayb it would be better if it was postponed.

Why is it harsh?
.
Ranger is not a premier league striker he is a L1 striker like Storey contracted to Swindon Town FC - wages are irrelevant - they are simply 2 forwards in direct competition for a one of the strikers spot in a 433 or a 451
.
OK we have recently gone 442 and that means they may not be in direct competition then it comes down to Storey v Smith or N'Guessan
.
Either way he is not above them in the pecking order and going out on loan will improve him so when he comes back he could be
.
Ajose is the best example to use - regular at Posh now from being nowhere near first choice thanks to a loan spell at another L1 team!

Doesn't that show he is not ready as he was unable to adapt to alternative styles?
.
Ajose and N'Guessan both adapted to wide forward and both scored goals from that position
.
I thought Storey would have excelled out there but never did - its hwere the likes of Henry and Walcott have all had joy
.
Granted he may come good alongside Ranger - but then again it may have been a one off against Coventry?
.
Smith and Ranger is far too early to tell - not enough pitch time together and playing on bog of pitches, in strong winds and away from home probably is not best place to judge their potential partnership - same way harsh to judge Troy and Ward purely on that one game
.
Granted Monday may have been a good chance for Storey - but its not worth stopping a loan for one game if he then drops out again
.
We can easily go 433 with Murphy and Tijane back alongside Pritchard or stick 442 and put N'Guessan back up top
.
N'guessan got MOM against Posh as had to fill in out wide once Jay saw red - so bit harsh to judge him as a forward in that one
.
Would be good to see them in a 442 together to see how they could work
